Jessica Simpson Lists Southern California House

Outdoors the resort-like grounds overlook picturesque city lights and mountain views, and host a grassy lawn, pool with a spa and separate shallow pool, and several spots ideal for al fresco lounging and entertaining. There’s also a four-car garage and guesthouse with its own kitchenette. I’ve got to give the production designer major props because the faux walkway is an exact replica of Nicole’s, which you can see an image of here.

Opinion: The Supreme Court just showed us that Trump is not incompetent. He’s a master of corruption

Another DeviantArt user created a poster of the Simpson home blueprint in 2013. “Minecraft” users have also created YouTube tutorials on how to build the home. Others have built the home in the “The Sims,” and LEGO even released a replica kit. On April 28, Weinstein, a former writer on “The Simpsons,” tweeted a photo of the floor plan for 742 Evergreen Terrace as it was drawn in 1990. (The show’s first episode premiered on Dec. 17, 1989.) Despite the show’s 30-plus years on the air, and its central place in pop culture, this is the first official floor plan for the Simpson house that’s ever been released.

Not only was the exterior of the home re-created for the contest, but Hollywood set designer Rick Floyd was brought in to exact The Simpsons house’s interior. You can check out some photos of his design here, which was so detailed that a fake half-eaten peanut butter and jelly sandwich was permanently installed underneath Bart’s bed. In all, Floyd collected 2,000 Simpsons-related props to carry out his vision (though it was stipulated that the furnishings were not included in the grand prize, but could be purchased should the winner so desire). Bart’s tree house, Homer’s BBQ, and the family’s swing set were even on display in the backyard. You can read an article about Floyd’s endeavors, which included picking out marshmallows from a box of Lucky Charms and gluing them together to represent Snowball II’s kibble, here.

O.J. Simpson’s death certificate confirms his cause of death, lawyer says

The initial winner of the sweepstakes was then-63-year-old Barbara Howard, a factory worker from Kentucky (via the Las Vegas Sun). Fox gave her the choice between either the home or $75,000, which was about roughly half of what the house itself was worth (via Los Angeles Times). The contest winner went with the cash, as the house was too far away from her Kentucky home, where she and her family owned an ostrich and tobacco farm. Although she wished they'd be able to build the house closer to where she lives so she could use it as a tourist stop to help fund her brother's cancer fund, it wasn't a feasible option. Then, eventually the house was sold to Danielle - a secretary at Kaufman and Broad, who repainted much of the property and repaired the ware and tear from all the visitors it had welcomed. From the orange sofa and lopsided boat painting on the wall to the yellow and blue tiled kitchen floor and the purple kitchen cupboards and identical light fittings, they really have thought of everything.

The 43-year-old Texas native purchased the opulent digs from the Osbournes for $11.5 million shortly before her 2014 marriage to Johnson, with the couple extensively remodeling and expanding the premises during their tenure. As for the Osbournes, the reality show stars paid nearly $12.4 million for the house in 2007, then subsequently undertook a Martyn Lawrence-Bullard-designed makeover that was featured in the pages of Architectural Digest.

Thanks to a February The Hollywood Reporter article, I learned that “a house a block away from Nicole Brown Simpson’s home was used as a stand-in” on the series. Simpson were an exact match to those of Nicole’s former condo, though. When I started looking along Bundy Drive, though, I could not find anything even remotely resembling what appeared onscreen. Not only was the condo’s address changed and the front entrance remodeled, but the walkway (where Nicole’s body was found) was actually moved. Comparison images taken of the walkway shortly after the murders in 1994 as compared to 2016 are pictured below.

From anger to appreciation, O.J. Simpson’s death elicits wide range of reactions

At the gruesome crime scene, police found Nicole lying in the fetal position at the base of the stairs to her home, surrounded by a pool of her blood. She was barefoot and wearing her nightgown, never realizing a predator waited in the shadows just outside her home. Due to the size of the lot, the width of the real life house was limited to 40 feet, while Woodley estimates the cartoon version to be about 50 feet. The positioning of the garage and the area above it are a little bit off, as well. In addition to his children with Whitley, OJ also fathered 2 children with his ex-wife, Nicole Brown – Sydney Brook Simpson (born 1985) and Justin Ryan Simpson (born 1988).

In a city that hosts such attractions as The Tragical History Tour, of course 360 N. Rockingham became a tourist (and locals) magnet after the grisly murders. I was absolutely floored to see, though, that the newer paint was chipping away on portions of the house, allowing the original coloring to peek through. OJ was ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages to the families, a judgment that was renewed in court again in 2015 and went on to be extended through to 2025.

In the images below, I’ve denoted the few things that were not altered. The large palm tree located in front of the home is a direct match to what appeared onscreen (it’s marked with the blue arrow below). The large pine tree behind the palm is also a direct match to what appeared onscreen (yellow arrow). The tall skinny palm located towards the rear of the property also parallels what was shown on The People v. O.J. And you can even see where the dip of the driveway was temporarily filled in for the shoot (pink arrow). You can see a photo of what the exterior of Nicole’s condo previously looked like here.

In 1997, following a downfall in merchandise sales, Fox needed something big to keep the relevance of "The Simpsons" moving forward. Eventually, the heads thought of an idea so big and bold that it would be impossible for fans to resist. Headed by project manager Mike Woodley, architect Manny Gonzalez, and production designer Rick Floyd, the team took in hundreds of episodes and storyboards of the show to get the best layout of the home possible. The goal was that, following public tours of the home, a lucky fan would have a chance to win the house thanks to a sweepstakes with Pepsi (via Mental Floss). A little over a year after a jury acquitted Nicole Brown Simpson's ex-husband — the former football star O.J.

Jeff Charney was responsible for marketing at Kaufman and Broad, a home builder looking to promote both its brand and a new housing development in Henderson, Nevada, about 16 miles southeast of Las Vegas. While brainstorming in the shower, Charney got the idea to erect a replica of the Simpsons' home. He brought it to Kaufman and Broad’s builders, including project manager Mike Woodley.

Due to the home's desirable location -- Venice is a famous beachside neighborhood -- the current owners are looking to sell the residence for $1.35 million. The 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom Los Angeles residence looks strikingly different from the last time we saw it -- as it was previously a scorched wreck from the fiery collision that led to Anne's untimely passing in 2022. Simpson gave up his Brentwood estate and moved to Florida, where, under state law, his home could not be seized by creditors. He received pensions, including from the NFL and the Screen Actors Guild, which were protected from seizure under federal law.

Nicole moved into the four-bedroom, five-bath, two-story, 3,424-square-foot pad upon separating from O.J. In January 1992 and remained there through January 1994, at which point she relocated to a Mediterranean-style condo at 875 South Bundy Drive, where she would be killed a short six months later. Four years later, the home continued to be a mecca for true-crime buffs, as did the site of O.J. Simpson's former mansion, also in Brentwood, even though it no longer existed, according to a 2020 the Los Angeles Times story. The new property owners tore down O.J Simpson's mansion back in 1998, replacing it with a new home, massive hedges, and signs warning of a guard dog, per The New York Times.
