They were only 45 minutes long some shorter and each act was repeated many times throughout the week. The best of all were a couple of comedians.-The workout room is totally outdated. If all you want is a treadmill ok but the few machines are as old as the ship. I've seen those machines in garage sales for free, just plane junk.- Services were very good, or room Stewart was excellent.

Spotty Wi-Fi hindered ordering drinks using the app in most locations or finding our cabinmate using OceanCompass. Similarly, bartenders or waiters rarely consulted iPads; most interactions used our room number, like always. The MedallionNet internet, billed as strong enough to stream, was inadequate to download email.

Staterooms on decks 8 (Emerald) and 15 (Marina) are possibly the Royal Princess only cabins to avoid if you want the guarantee of a good night’s sleep, as they’re subject to noise from the common areas right above or below. Speaking of amenities, make sure you understand what you'll get as part of your fare and which extras will come with an additional cost. For example, most cruises offer drink packages for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, but a few have drink stations where you can get complimentary lemonade, coffee and tea.

Coffee Currents is a new offering, while classics like Bellini’s Cocktail Bar, Crooners and the Wheelhouse Bar are reprised, though the latter is sadly subdued from previous vintage maritime showcases. Not yet available on our sailing was what will become Sun’s flagship dining venue — Love by Britto — highlighting spectacular views high above the stern for romantic dinners. Many families choose Princess; multigenerational groups (grandparents, adult children, grandkids) enjoy the dining and entertainment options and the line's solid family programs, particularly during the summer and holidays. During the Alaska season, the average age is mid- to late 50s; on warm-weather itineraries, the average age skews higher into the 60s (except during school holidays). As is standard on cruises, Princess offers a ton of dining choices that are included in your cruise fare. Look for these restaurants on your next cruise; not all locations are offered on every ship.
OceanMedallion, a small disk replacing the keycard, is used to open cabin doors automatically, embark and disembark, register food and drink preferences and many more, particularly when paired with several apps. Princess MedallionClass cruises are the next level in cruising and available on select ships and itineraries. On these cruises, you’ll receive an OceanMedallion, a wearable device about the size of a quarter that will make your cruise a breeze. On formal nights, formal attire is required in both the Anytime Dining and Traditional Dining locations. Appropriate attire includes evening gowns, cocktail dresses, tuxedos, dinner jackets, or a suit and tie.
Unacceptable Princess considering what this cruise is costing me. We enjoyed the cruise for its organization, port punctuality, and the stellar service. The food options were fine for a medium tier cruise. We bought the Princess Plus package for all the bennies and top shelf alcohol.

The company partners with renowned chefs such as Curtis Stone and Ernesto Uchimura to create menus that feature both classic and contemporary cuisine. Passengers can choose from a variety of dining options, including the main dining room, specialty restaurants, and casual eateries. Princess Cruises also offers a unique dining experience called "Anytime Dining," which allows passengers to choose when and where they want to dine each night. Royal Princess is a large cruise ship with a maximum capacity of 3,560 passengers, but crowds are usually not an issue here.

Very little vegetarian options.Worst bit is they closed dinning one day. Carnival,Royal Caribbean have alot better food, entertainment and rooms.Rooms have lots of safety hazards. They do not plan ahead for public holidays, they cancel trips without telling you leaving you late to rearrange, they are often three fold more expensive, groups are too large thus hurried and they are not overly concerned with negative feedback.
Princess Cruises Review – Ships, Destinations, Dining, and More
In general, Princess cruises attract a diverse mix of passengers, ranging from families with children to retirees and solo travelers. However, on average, the majority of guests are over the age of 50. Many of the onboard activities, such as bridge and ballroom dancing, may be more popular with older passengers.
There are so many different options to choose from, including complimentary dining as well as specialty locations that require an additional fee. This handy little medallion will unlock your stateroom door, help with expedited embarkation, and it can order drinks, food and other services on demand. It will steer you in the right direction with turn-by-turn navigation, or it can even help you locate your travel companions. You can even use it to play games like bingo, slots, and poker throughout the ship. Princess Cruises began in 1965 with a single ship sailing to Mexico.
Looking at numbers alone, Sun is the biggest ship to join Princess’ fleet at 177,882 gross tons and 4,300 guests, but it doesn’t often feel that large. An efficient layout keeps crowds spread out, and smart elevators that accept floor numbers and assign cars before loading expedite passage between levels. Cabins on Discovery Princess are among the most varied in the Princess fleet, thanks to the addition of two top-of-the-line Sky Suites situated overlooking the pool deck on Deck 18 forward. A large casino is situated on Deck 6 forward of the atrium, while Take Five – a most surprising jazz lounge – takes up a small space adjacent on the port side of the vessel.

The latter space was not yet open for our voyage, but soon all ages will be able to enjoy a challenging ropes course, a splash zone, a Rollglider suspended rail ride and more. Bridging onboard cuisine and entertainment is Spellbound by Magic Castle. For an exceptional value of $149 per person, participants are treated to one of three illusion-themed, four-course dinner seatings in Horizons before being granted exclusive access to the speakeasy-esque magic venue itself.
-Very few restrooms and poorly marked and only at the restrooms. No signs pointing out where.-Despite large digital displays of the ship with locations marked it's unclear which way is forward, aft, or mid- deck. Simple arrows would work.-The Panama Old City Excursion was a total Shiitt SHOW. 5 hours on a 40 mile (one way) bus ride without a bathroom. Approximately 45 minutes off the bus.-Very few of the on board entertainment events were worth seeing.
On the opposite side is a bathroom with ample space and a glassed-in shower. Passengers will also find Discovery Princess to be decidedly inclusive and non-judgmental. Special meet-up groups are offered onboard for solo and LGBTQ+ travelers, while support groups like Friends of Bill W. Up top, passengers will also find an expansive Fitness Center and the adults-only Retreat Pool – an interior space tucked away ahead of the forward elevator bank.
Sun Princess is the first in the Sphere class of ships, and it is quite striking architecturally. There’s a glass-enclosed globe on the upper, forward-most deck, as well as at the ship’s center. The result is The Dome up top, and the spherical Piazza atrium below — two panoramic, multipurpose venues used for relaxation by day and lively entertainment by night. One could even argue that the former serves as a partially obstructed observation lounge, and both illustrate just how far Princess has come with its exterior design and interior aesthetics, which are anything but dated and pedestrian.
At platinum, I'll get 50% off MedallianNet, access to special lounges, 10% off treatments at The Lotus Spa, and priority boarding. I found the passengers on my three cruises were predominantly senior citizens who seemed like they liked to have a good time, but by 10 p.m., each ship got pretty quiet. Some cruises have jam-packed schedules with shows, games, and performances but Princess' entertainment offerings are lighter in comparison. This helps me truly relax and not feel like I'm missing out on anything. Also reprised onboard are the Crown Grill traditional steakhouse and Sabatini’s for Italian cuisine.
